Collagen is a natural protein we all have, that provides structural support to the skin, muscles, tendon and bone.

In the face collagen provides shape and texture.

Once your natural collagen protein degenerates, your skin will slowly lose its firmness and youthful appearance.

Replace the skin’s natural collagen

Replacing the skin’s natural collagen with a dermal filler will help smooth lines and wrinkles, giving you a fresher, more youthful appearance.

Creams will only work on the surface of the skin, dermal fillers work within your skin making a noticeable difference immediately.

There are many different dermal fillers on the market, however, all our products are received from reputable  manufacturers.

Dermal fillers are used to help soften unwanted facial lines, acne scars, and give fullness to lips.

The rejuvenation systems will help rehydrate the face, chest and hand areas.

Procedures are safe and strict hygiene is always maintained

Our Nurse, MaryLee, has been working with Dermal fillers for more than 10 years and will provide you with a very professional, high standard, level of treatment.

A large number of people are already benefiting from dermal fillers.

Imagine not having to worry about lines, wrinkles or acne scars showing.

With dermal fillers you can have these filled out making the skin smooth.

Lip plumping is very popular and by using a dermal filler you can give your mouth a fuller look, but still look natural.

No one needs to know you have had any work done.

Your image is very important and knowing there are procedures available to help can be a great comfort and give confidence back to deal with other issues in life.

History of Collagen

Collagen in the skin is very similar to collagen found in certain animals.

In the early 70’s biochemists and practitioners at Stanford University were researching alternatives to skin grafts.During the course of this work they developed the concept of purifying animal collagen so thoroughly that it could be used to replace lost skin tissue. Further research by the Collagen Corporation led to the development of injectable Collagen”.

Animal collagen was the main type of injectable dermal filler until a company called Q-med introduced a man made hyaluronic acid gel onto the market.

Now you will find various types of injectable products available.

Benefits of Using Dermal Fillers

  • People who want to soften their facial lines
  • Fill in hollow cheeks
  • People with acne scar
  • People wanting fuller lips
  •  People who want to soften lines running from neck to chest

Facial lines and indentations vary in depth, length and age.

Depending on the area needing treatment will depend on what product will be best suited to treat the area. For this reason the manufacturers of the products have developed them in various strengths.

The products are long lasting but are not permanent and top up treatments will be required once the product which has been injected into the skin starts to deplete.

This is referred to as maintenance treatments and usually occurs every six months.

However, this depends on your skin type, the area being treated, life style, age, and muscle activity. Some clients find the products last longer and maintenance treatments are spread further apart.

Consultation

During your consultation the area of concern will be assessed and we will discuss the desired look you are wishing to achieve. Which product will best provide the result and amount of product needed to create this desired effect.

In some cases it is recommended to have your treatment over two sessions, as this allows the product from the first session to settle and then additional product may be added to the area to create the desired look very naturally.

Any concerns or questions will be answered prior to the procedure.

However, with the man made hyaluronic acid products, skin testing is not necessary, so a treatment may be performed immediately after the consultation.

*Treatments are neiher recommended nor carried out during pregnancy or during breast feeding.

Procedure

The time frame for a procedure is a half hour (1/2hr.) as this allows time to fill out necessary forms and answer any further questions you may have.

Immediately after the treatment the areas may be red and slight swelling may be noticed. This will resolve itself, usually within a few hours. There is  no need to hide away for days at a time.

The product needs time to settle in the skin.

However, you will see a difference immediately.

It usually will take 5 to 7 days for the product to completely settle and the desired correction is achieved.

For the ultimate product result it is recommended to be well hydrated. This is best achieved by drinking the recommended amount of water per day.
