“It is said you are never
too young to
start caring for your skin” Even with a
good skin routine of cleansing and moisturising, a healthy diet and
exercise,
you will not escape the ageing process. MaryLee - Academy
of Micropigmentation Collagen is a natural protein we all have, that provides structural support to the skin, muscles, tendon and bone. In the face collagen provides shape and texture. Once your natural collagen protein degenerates, your skin will slowly lose its firmness and youthful appearance.
Replacing the skin’s natural collagen with a dermal filler will help smooth lines and wrinkles, giving you a fresher, more youthful appearance. Creams
will only work on the surface of the skin, dermal fillers work
within your skin making a noticeable difference immediately. The rejuvenation systems will help rehydrate the face, chest and hand areas. Procedures
are safe and strict hygiene is always
maintained
Our Nurse, MaryLee,
has been working with Dermal fillers for more than 10 years

dermal fillers you
can have these filled out making the skin smooth. No
one
needs to know you have had any work done. Your
image
is very important and knowing there are procedures available to help
can be a
great comfort and give confidence back to deal with other issues in
life. History of
Collagen Collagen
in
the skin is very similar to collagen found in certain animals. “In the
early 70’s biochemists and practitioners at Animal collagen was the main type of injectable dermal filler until a company called Q-med introduced a man made hyaluronic acid gel onto the market. Now
you will
find various types of injectable products available.
Facial lines and indentations vary in depth, length and age. Depending
on the area needing
treatment will depend on what product will be best suited to treat the
area.
For this reason the manufacturers of the products have developed them
in
various strengths. The products are long lasting but are not permanent and top up treatments will be required once the product which has been injected into the skin starts to deplete. This is referred to as maintenance treatments and usually occurs every six months. However, this depends on your skin type, the area being treated, life style, age, and muscle activity. Some clients find the products last longer and maintenance treatments are spread further apart.
In
some
cases it is recommended to have your treatment over
two sessions, as this
allows the product from the first session to settle and then additional
product may be added to the area to create the desired look very
naturally. Any
concerns or questions will be answered prior to the procedure. However,
with
the man made hyaluronic acid products, skin testing is not necessary,
so a treatment may be performed immediately after the consultation. *Treatments are neiher recommended nor carried out during pregnancy or during breast feeding. The time frame for a procedure is a half hour (1/2hr.) as this allows time to fill out necessary forms and answer any further questions you may have. Immediately
after the treatment the areas may be red and slight swelling may be
noticed.
This will resolve itself, usually within a few hours. There
is no need to hide away for
days at a time. The product needs time to settle in the skin. However, you will see a difference immediately. It usually will take 5 to 7 days for the product to completely settle and the desired correction is achieved. For
the ultimate
product result it is recommended to be well hydrated. This is best
achieved by
drinking the recommended amount of water per day. Frequently asked
